“The eye and the hand” is a combined exhibit. Three women confront each other and share their art, inside the glassmaker Rossano Pucciarelli’s old workshop in Via Garibaldi. His wife is, as a matter of fact, the promoter of the exhibit: Maria Giulia Broccardi Schelmi. Well-known artist of Leghorn, Maria Giulia decided to show her figurative paintings, her women, characters of strong emotions, noticeable by anyone who linger over them. For this occasion, the painter opened her workshop even to the sculptor Alessandra Jacobone and to the photographer Giulia Barini, giving them the possibility to set up a combined exhibit. Alessandra Jacobone has been pursuing her art for several years and, at her first exhibit, she will show her wax and glazed terracotta sculptures. Giulia Barini has instead chosen to contextualize her work with photo shoots regarding the craftworks or, at least the few workshops still open in the Leghorn territory. To honor the work of these artists, the photographer has made the picture frames by herself, decorating them with the tools and materials which the artists give birth to their works with.
